The challenge
Building two schools in an established city centre means working within tight site constraints, continuous traffic, and existing buried services — while holding to a design specification prepared abroad and coordinating continuously with a foreign partner operating from a different technical reference.
The approach
We worked in direct partnership with the Chinese firms on matching design details, rather than passing the specification down to a local equivalent.
We executed the reinforced concrete skeletons with quality control and documented lab testing at every pour stage.
The infrastructure for both schools was delivered to high efficiency within the same scope.
The outcome
Both schools were completed in 2024. This brought our record in this building type to five schools in two years, all in Basra.
